主唱John Rzeznik的父母，在他十五歲時相繼過世，爸爸先是因糖尿病而死，媽媽一年後，也因為心臟病過世，他是由自己的四個姐姐照顧長大的。這首歌是寫給他的姐姐們。因為生活的重擔在眼前，當下無法傷悲。事過境遷之後，卻也不知道已癒合的痂下面，究竟是什麼？可能更好，也可能更壞。
Name是指姐姐們的名字，可能是因為覺得自己的境遇太糟了，不想被別人知道，也不想被人談論，希望自己像空氣一樣，只要能夠在世界上默默存在著，就夠了。
