生活總是塞車、看電視、空虛的心靈、瘋狂的競爭…美國被Bruce Springsteen寫得好像很差一樣，但就算美國這麼爛，世人還是爭當美國人，拼死生美寶。
其實這首歌裡所寫的東西，對台灣而言也為真，每個人只是乖乖的讀書、上班、賺錢過日子，最後卻造成了社會上一大堆的問題。根源不全是政治、不全是教育，而是意識型態造成。真的講的話，應該是「資本主義」本質上為害人類心靈與地球。
