這首歌是一個成人，藉由回憶美好的童年，來鼓勵自己渡過困難。大部份人的童年不管過得再坎坷，但相對自己成人後的生活而言，還是能說「童年無憂無慮」。孫燕姿曾在演唱會上唱過這首英文歌，其實她的代表作「天黑黑」也是用相同的梗來發想。
但是令人難過的是，唱這首歌鼓勵大家的Axl Rose，他自己的童年可能並不快樂，因為他曾上節目說他其實在二歲時，被自己的父親性侵虐待過。
